About Festival

The Stationary Edition of the Festival completed

Ladies and gentlemen!

The Stationary Edition of the Lower Silesian Science Festival (LSSF) has finished. During 6 days of September, approximately 850 meetings in the field of culture, science and art were organised. One more time the turnout was wholly satisfactory. It amounted to about 80,000 visits, which can be regarded as a huge success. Upon the Ceremonious Closing of the Stationary Edition that took place at University of Technology, the Festival went on a trip to the region. On the days of 27th and 28th September some meetings were held in Legnica and Zgorzelec. During the lecture Chemical senses, their types, is it true? prof. Halina Podbielska gave the audience insights into biomedical engineering - one of the most developing fields of science and its benefits, and into interesting career path for young people. The lecture was held in the Park of Technology in the building of KGHM Letia in Legnica. Then, the lecture entitled Love – is it just brain chemistry? inaugurated the Festival in Zgorzelec, during which dr. Marta Sochocka was demonstrating how through the analysis of the content of our plates, the change of our eating habits and physical activity we can keep ourselves out of overweight that leads to obesity, bulimia, or anorexia – illnesses more and more diagnosed among young people worldwide.

Apart from the above-mentioned cities, Dzierżoniów, Głogów, Jelenia Góra, Bystrzyca Kłodzka, Wałbrzych, Ząbkowice Śląskie are also involved in the creation of the regional edition. Thus, the Festival has become the important and well-recognised event taking place in September and October.
